Black, Brown, and Green Briefing Paper Series

Momentous changes in the global energy economy represent a unique opportunity for wealth-building in communities of color. More of our energy supply has the ability to come from communities and households acting as de-centralized power producers of renewable energy. As the energy market greens, CSI’s Black Brown and Green is helping to lay the foundation for innovative businesses and progressive community leaders to make full use of this potential opportunity in communities of color. Stake holders need business structures that will protect community control, strategies to raise capital, and access to the right technology. As part of this effort CSI has published a series of introductory papers on renewable technologies and their adaptability to community ownership.
