MISSISSIPPI QUALITY EDUCATION PROJECT
In 2003, on behalf of Southern Echo, a regional leadership education, training and development organization based in Jackson , Mississippi , the Center for Social Inclusion conducted research on the performance and financing of Mississippi schools. CSI participated in a Southern Echo training with community based groups to explain our findings and recommend next steps.
Based on that work, CSI has been examining possible support work to advance an ambitious, long-term reform agenda to link quality education and juvenile justice issues and improve the educational opportunities of all young Mississipians. CSI is examining ways to support the work of Southern Echo and Citizens for Quality Education in Holmes County Mississippi, the poorest county in the Mississippi delta region.
